StoryPlace Pre-school Library. It is a wonderful collection for the little ones! It has the online story and activity as well as a parent’s activity. I highly recommend it!
Story Pop at Book-Pop. Another great site for the young ones! They are narrated online.
Starfall. This site is perfect to begin taking the very young kids through the different stages of reading. I recommend it for kids from pre-school to grade 3.
KidSpace @ The Internet Public Library. Click on Story Hour and read with your kids! This site is great for any age if you read with your kids but the vocabulary is more for grades 2-4.
Dositey. There are free Language Arts programs on this site for grades K- 12.
Stories from the Web. There are two sections: ages 8-11 and ages 11-14. It is also a good site to find stories you can read to your kids.
Stories on PBS Kids. This is also a great site to use to read to your kids. It has related games on each story.
BookPals Storyline Online. Hear books read by actors!
Kidzone Fun Facts for Kids. This site has more printable books and it is free.
SchoolExpress. 25 free Storytime programs.
Reading Workshop Online Tutorial. This site is great for kids to read a selection and answer questions about that selection. It tests comprehension skills and can be used for grades 2 and up.
Wacky Web Tales. These are geared for grades 3 and above. The kids insert missing parts of speech and create their own wacky tale! It’s a wonderful comprehension builder.
eMints Reading Strategies.These websites contain reading strategies to help elementary school students become good readers. Some websites simply list strategies and some include activities to help students learn. One website is a PowerPoint presentation on good reading techniques and one website compares good reading with poor reading. Some websites are written for students who are having trouble learning to read.

Social Studies
America’s Story (Library of Congress). Using a story-like format, you will be taken back in time and shown things you never heard or saw before. Consisting mostly of primary source materials; there are letters, diaries, records, tapes, films, sheet music, maps, prints, photographs and digital materials.
Playing with Time. A journey to the unseen world of natural change and shows events that happen too fast or too slow for humans to perceive. See amazing movies, check out a "time activity," or come up with an interesting idea that shows change over time and they will lend you a digital camera to make your own movie. There's an entire section, the Toolkit, devoted to teaching students how to make their own movies using a camcorder or stills
